This comes through body awareness and calmness in mind and breath. I teach based on my own competitive swimming career and from being coached by the best in the sport.
My Role My role is to teach and educate all my clients about the joys and benefits of swimming. I share my love of the sport and hope it has a long lasting effect in their lives.
My Balance My balance comes from enjoying my job and spending time at the pool with my clients. Also I get my creative bug out by designing swimwear and taking long walks and bike rides in the city.

I followed up with my 500 hours yoga teacher certification through Yogaworks (RYT 500), barre certification at both YW and Equinox (Pure Yoga), Core Strength Vinyasa with Sadie Nardini, and 40 hours of restorative yoga training under Jillian Pransky. I work on the megaformer at Strengthen Lengthen Tone when I’m not off teaching for The Wright Fit around NYC!
My Role My role in TWF is sharing my knowledge of yoga and body work to help my clients and students have a more mindful and enjoyably everyday life.
My Balance My balance comes from practicing yoga myself as much as possible, and traveling the world with my husband Tom in our spare time. I also love to crochet on a daily basis.

My Role: As a personal trainer, I am here to assist, demonstrate, motivate and help you explore the limitations of your body. By understanding your limits, we can specify what fitness goals you have and keep you in a strong physical as well as mental state to get you one step closer to the ideal body you want.

My Balance: I keep myself in physical shape; always changing things and experimenting with new ideas in the gym. I enjoy watching movies so I can relax and find new motivations for me to bring into my daily life.

My Foundation: After several attempts at many different sports my mom gave me a firm dissertation. My sophomore years of high school I discovered the Swimming Team, so with much determination, I pushed through swim classes and joined the swim team. I became MVP, went to state championships and at the end of the school year I was pronounced Captain for the up coming season. That summer, 23 yrs ago, I worked as a lifeguard and acquired my Water Safety Instructor Certification.

My Role: At The Wright Fit, I develop young and older swimmers for a healthier lifestyle. I live by the Thumbprint Rule (when you meet new people they take a piece of you with them).

My Balance: comes from the joy that I see in my students after they have reached their aquatic goals..

My Foundation: Swimming has always been a hugely important factor in my life. I been swimming since an early age, spending most summers at the beach, in the pool, or any other body of water that I could find. At the age of 9 I started with a competitive swimming club, followed by high school and college. Unfortunately going into my sophomore year I suffered a shoulder injury that caused me to stop competitive swimming, but this did not stop me from being in the water and giving back to the sport that has given me so much.

My Role is to share my passion and enthusiasm of fitness and aquatics while motivating and training clients every day, ensuring the best experience in the water while providing a high quality of Instruction as well.

My Balance: I consider myself to be a great example of a Fitness Enthusiast.  All things that require physical activity are what help me sustain a healthy balance, from swimming to cycling, wrestling, fishing, obstacle course racing, hiking, mountain climbing and triathlons.  Staying positive and patient is something I follow. You can accomplish anything if you put your mind to it, while staying positive throughout the process.

Dianna Warren

My Foundation: is movement. Movement has always been my passion. After years as a professional ballet dancer and 6 more years on Broadway , I experienced many injuries. Discovering the GYROTONIC Method, with its focus on spine mobility , truly healed me in every way- enhancing and lengthening my dance career.

I am now just as passionate about teaching and sharing these discoveries with others – working together to move with greater ease and efficiency, flexibility, and strength.

My Role: in the Wright Fit is to facilitate and enhance movement. I am primarily a GYROTONIC/GYROKINESIS instructor. I also teach Ballet and can lead a Qigong class.

My Balance: is again continuing to explore movement in all aspects of life . Pursuing Magic with family and friends!

Leila Zimbel

My Foundation: I come to yoga from a career in modern dance, having performed with the Bill T Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, among others. After 20 years of movement study, including; pilates, gyrotonics, Feldenkrais, Laban movement, Bartenieff fundamentals, and Klein technique, yoga was the one modality that synchronized and embodied all this previous knowledge. I believe in providing the perfect alchemical mix of elements to shift one’s being, physically, emotionally, mentally and psychologically. I have over 500 hours of study and assist renowned teacher Shiva Rea. I have extensive Ayurvedic studies and trainings as well as have completed a tai massage training that i utilize in my sessions. I currently supplement my training by intensively studying the Katonah yoga method with Abbie Galvin and Nevine Michaan.

My Role: Yoga Teacher

My Balance: I try to strive for balance in every moment of life by practicing yoga in the most unexpected places; on the subway, at the deli and most importantly in my interpersonal relationships and personal life. Asana, mediation, dance, music, fashion, nature and the ocean are thread into my life as often as possible.

My Foundation: Is to help, inspire and motivate others to be their very best . This begins with ourselves. From our own mistakes (I’ve made many) we learn compassion, understanding, accountability and the ability to keep moving forward. As it is in life, it is in health and fitness: “Keep moving forward…. results around the corner.” 

My Role:  In The Wright Fit is to provide a safe, supportive, fun and educational environment for clients where they can overcome self-imposed limitations towards a healthier lifestyle, becoming stronger inside and out. I also really enjoy seeing how the benefits of a healthier lifestyle transfer over into other areas of people’s lives. I love being a part of the transformation process that people experience when they commit to taking better care of themselves.

My Balance: Comes from several things: working out; whether it’s taking a Yoga class or kicking my own butt in the gym. I’m a big foodie and love researching Paleo recipes to try out at home. I used to have my own catering company, so feeding people is part of what makes me feel happy. I enjoy writing screenplays, film (especially Indie films) daily meditation keeps life in perspective, travel nurtures my adventurous side and being with and appreciating my beautiful daughter, Sophia and awesome husband, Tony, makes my life complete.

My Balance:  I have a true passion for sports and fitness. I pursue a wide range of activities including beach volleyball, snowboarding, surfing, baseball and football, weightlifting. I have taught stand-up paddle boarding and have worked with professional and semi-professional athletes and kick boxers. Sports and fitness has been instrumental in saving my life, and has lead me to an overall quality of life I couldn’t imagine living without.

My Role:  What I intend to bring to The Wright Fit is an approach that understanding the importance of being emotionally and mentally healthy is the quest to become and remain physically healthy. My Role:  As a Training Specialist with The Wright Fit, my role is to motivate, teach and help change our clients both mentally and physically as we work towards achieving body goals, strength goals and an overall accomplishment of living our best possible life.

My Balance: Comes from a mixture of hard work, exercise, family time and friends.  My family is extremely important to me and although I don’t get to see them as often as I’d like, we spend a lot of time Face-Timing and keeping in touch.  My little nephew brings such a sense of joy to our family!!  I love a good run on the weekends followed by a coffee shop and a Sunday stroll.  Living in NYC, it’s great to have a day with no plan and to just let the day carry you!

My Foundation Mindfulness and being of service. Attention to detail in everything I do daily, especially the mundane things, keeps me present in all my activities and teaching. Martial arts gave me my first insights into moving mindfully and intentionally, which later helped evolve my yoga and movement practices. Being a former NYPD officer instilled in me a sense of service to others that I carry throughout my day and hope to convey to my students. Moving mindfully throughout our day can help us become more present for everything we do. Being present will help us better serve ourselves and others around us.
My Role Creating a safe space for students to explore, learn, have fun, and understand their bodies better through movement. Being able to move the way we want is freedom. Helping students gain the physical competency to move how they want gives them the freedom to pursue the things that make them happy.
My Balance Enjoying time with my wife and family. Satiating my voracious appetite for knowledge by learning new things. Setting aside time to pursue the things that bring me joy: rock climbing, riding anything with 2 wheels, and snowboarding.

My Balance comes from my own training: weightlifting, gymnastics, parkour, acrobatics, etc, reading on the subway, my little ball of fur of a puppy, playing music and occasionally performing comedy, albeit badly.

My Foundation Rooted in the belief that everyone deserves to feel good in their body, every single day. A dancer since age 3, I know intimately how hard work, focus, dedication, and courage can change your life and your body beyond what you thought was possible. Everyone has the capacity to feel great and fit in their bodies in their own individual way, and my goal is to help you find your way there.
My Role To help clients stretch/strengthen/tone their bodies with an emphasis on learning proper alignment, so the whole system can function at its best capacity – feeling the best you possibly can in your body. Whether it’s through yoga, core work, cardio, or meditation; I want you to leave a session feeling better than you did walking in – more grounded, lighter, relaxed, and connected to your body/mind/spirit.
My Balance Comes from taking yoga and dance classes, journaling, taking long walks through prospect park with my dog, and spending as much time as I can outdoors, whether it’s biking, hiking, or stand up paddle boarding. I take time to explore my creativity and self expression through dance, theater, film, music, and choreography. My friends and family are also an integral part of keeping my life full of love, laughter, and happiness.
